SOLVING PROBLEMS WITH CREATIVE SOLUTIONS
The Oil Field Capabilities Brochures is a great example of how I utilize a variety skills in solving the clients problem.
PROBLEM: Client needed a collateral piece that would serve as both a sales and training product. Client manufactured a wide variety of products that are used in the oil and gas manufacturing industry. They needed something that could show where these products are used and why their product was superior to the competition.
SOLUTION: After interviewing key employees both in sales and manufacturing, it was decided that a diagram that showed a generic oil or gas rig would be the best way to do this. I began extensive research and was able to come up with a way to illustrate the various areas within the rig that the products were sold.
Mud pumps are used in the production of oil and gas. The client manufactured a number of products that are found inside the mud pump. When original parts wear out, replacements need to be found. Client wanted to make it easy for both end user and industrial distribution channels to identify these replacement parts.
I created the diagram as well as the illustration to showcase the clients products.
Drawworks is an important part of a drilling rig. The steel cable (drilling line) used in drawworks can be used to hoist and lower hundreds of thousands of pounds of weight, including lifting steel pipes out of boreholes. Because of this mechanical parts of the drawworks wear out periodically. Client manufactured many of the replacement parts found in the drawworks.
